Miss roll out of observing challenge too?

Maybe I am the only one one who missed it...or maybe I am the first to notice it but...

I just found on the Home page the Monthly Challenge button...

I took a quick look and it looks great to me...

This will give me somthing to try in May and hopefully future months...

Way to go Ice and the others involved! You all deserve an "Atta Boy" or two for your efforts...

Cheers!

It may be my weird sense of humour, but the text that followed that title wasn't what I was expecting..

mojo: phew, it wasnt just me! haha

First one to post a pic of themself/significant other in a bikini beside their roll out roof observatory wins a lolly!

Looking forward to taking on this challenge! Well done to all involved (Ice and astro_south)! Would be so much easier if I had my DSC's organised!

atalas: jump to the main non-forum page and look on the left hand side, specially this button:

What! you can't see the picture of the big DOB silhouette with *ICE IN SPACE* & *MONTHLY OBSERVING CHALLENGE* on it? Maybe you need one of these> L.
Hey, Terry, put it back on their home page!

Whoops, it will be announced formally in the next few days.. but just finished chucking it all on the website today, so I added the button and the menu item under "resources".

If you can't see it on the homepage, you need to refresh (F5 or Ctrl-F5).

Anyway as I said, it will be announced formally when I get time to write it up - very busy weekend with my son Jacob's 6th birthday party..

But of course, feel free to peruse and check out the sites, and look forward to seeing some reports and sketches, and DSO images!

Sorry about the confusion on the name...and prematurely letting the cat out of the bag on the new feature...

I still think it is tops!

No probs Scott, not your fault.. I put it on the homepage with every realisation that someone would probably notice it.

I'm glad you like it, and hope that you (and others) will take part!

Thanks to Andrew (astro_south) for all his help.

No worries Mike - glad to be involved. Thanks to John (ausastronomer) too for his work on the multiple star section.

Now I have to start thinking of objects for June If you have any suggestions / favourites / hidden gems you want to put up as possible targets you can always PM them too me.

Next week I am off down to Inverrell for some fossicking and camping. I will be taking the 4" ST refractor for some viewing and note taking on these objects - just hope I don't hit the "sauce" too hard before the sun goes down
