Eastern Veil HRGB

Imaged from my back garden in the UK over two nights the conditions were beautiful with the moon out of the way...spent most of it tweaking the mount...but managed enough to get something nice....the H-alpha frames really helped extend the delicate tendrils from the nebula.

Exoposure times are 2x 1800 s of H-alpha, 4x 900s in Red and Blue, 4x 600s in Green for a total exposure of 3 hours and 40mins
Imaged with My AG12 F3.8 astrograph and SX H35 CCD camera

Lovely, rich colours, Peter! Nice to see an image from you. It has been a while.

Cheers,
Rick.

This is really beautiful. The details are outstanding, great saturation and I particularly like the nuances of red, pinks and mauve in the colours. Superb result.

Thank your for the feed back...Its always difficult to know if your colour balance is correct with so many renditions around.

Thanks Rick it has been a while....I have been dipping in every now and then but over the past few years I've been going through redundancies and other work issues...I've just not had the time....and of course the spell of bad weather we have here.
This is actually my first shot after refurbishing the scope...so I'm quite pleased with how its performing.

This is a stunning image.

We wondered how you managed to make it so sharp, because from here it is low in the sky, but then we noticed your address.

Let's do a swap. Drop box some of your northern targets calibrated raw FIT files and we can dropbox some of our southern targets. What are you after? The veil and if you've got any of andromeda sounds nice. I got plenty on M8, Eta Carina, whatever's up here atm.

Just a smidge too much contrast IMHO...I suspect there is detail in the shadows that has been hidden in processing.

A very pretty rendition just the same.
