Forum Issues

Is there a forum anywhere here where people can post problems they're having with the forum? I looked but could not find. Just about all other forum's I'm a member of have a section for this.

I have come to love IIS in the short time I've been here.
But, I have a couple of problems(surprise!)
This is not an attack on the forum, just a couple of things I've got used to on other forums.

1) when copy/pasting into the 'reply to thread' window, not all the VB codes are shown.
For example, if I copy/past italicised text, it shows up italicised in the reply window, and not thus: {I}blah blah blah{/i} ( {}'s substituted for []'s)
Even clicking the I button doesnt help. Also, all text entered after is italicised, whether the button is on or not.
Therefore, I can't edit or 'Un-italicize' it.
Is there a known work-around?

2) I have my 'preferences' (User CP options) set to show oldest post first, newest post last(ie: on page 12 or whatever), just because this is the way every other forum I'm subscribed to(and now my miniscule brain) works.
My problem is, when I go to a thread I've already visited, I'm taken back to the start(oldest post) and have to click 'View First Unread' to get the new stuff.
Is there a setting in the UserCP to make this automatic?

3) Related to #2, if I come back to an already read thread for new posts(in the last 30mins or so), the 'View First Unread' takes me back to where I was when I logged onto IIS today, not the 'true' first unread post(30 mins ago). The only way I can get around this is to close all IIS windows, and log on again.
Is there a known work around for this too?

As I said before, this is not an attack on the IIS forum.(yes it is important that I repeat this)
I know this is a different forum and and I know they're trivial things, it's just that I kinda got used to the convenience of these things happening on other forums and wondered if I can do anything in my UserCP to make it happen here?

Cheers,
Simo

I'm not smart enough to answer your technical questions...

But, in the past in the news and Feedback Foum is where I've seen technical questions answered quickly and well...

Good Luck

I've moved this thread to the "Website Feedback" forum, which is the appropriate place for it..

Unfortunately I don't have time to address your concerns right now but if someone hasn't answered by the morning i'll take the time to respond

Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks for the move iceman.
I didn't see this forum, maybe the 'News and Website' part turned me off before I got to the 'Feedback' part.
Either that or my eye's are painted on!

1) If you change your options for "Message Editor Interface" to "Standard Editor", I think that's what you're looking for. You will then be able to see the bbcode tags. (I don't use the WYSIWYG editor option just for that reason. I like to see the bbcode as well.)

As for 2) and 3), which are related. That's a very good question. I'll have to get back to you on that one. I suspect vbulletin is designed around 'newest first' sorting, so everything is designed around that. But I'll have a look.

For #2, if you click the green triangle on the left of the thread title, it takes you to the "first unread post" in the thread. Is that what you're looking for?

Thanks heaps for the help mojo and iceman.

iceman, thats what I'm hoping to avoid Was just wondering if there was a way to have it happen automatically for me, a setting in my UserCP that I may have overlooked. No great stress really, I'm starting to get used to how it works here.

Cheers,
Simo

EDIT: Just re-read #3, and it's as clear as mud, but mojo sounds like he understands what I'm getting at.
