* Comet McNaught (2006/P1) expected to put on a show!

Bright comet McNaught is expected to be easily visible for us in the Southern Hemisphere from January 15, 2007. It will be in the evening twighlight after sunset. It's generating a lot of discussion on the IceInSpace Forums already, and Terry Lovejoy (CometGuy) and Scott Alder (tornado33) have already posted their images taken in the daytime (!).

Keep an eye on the threads on IceInSpace for the latest, as this is expected to be the brightest comet we've seen in some time!


* IISAC bookings exceed 145!

With 9 days to go, there's now over 145 people coming to IISAC2007, with more expected to book in the next week as well as turn up on the day. It makes IISAC2007 the 2nd biggest star party in Australia, in only our 2nd year!
There's a huge prize pool on offer for the lucky door prize draw, as well as some great and interesting guest speakers giving talks.
We're keeping our fingers crossed for good weather, but regardless of the weather, it will be a fantastic event and a great chance to meet other IceInSpace members and make some new friends, look through some large-aperture telescopes and observe under dark skies.
I hope to meet you there!
