Time-Lapse Jupiter

Hi All,

Last night, I took about 500 images of Io’s transit and shadow across Jupiter. I am using a dobsonian so Jupiter is rotated slightly through the photos and is not always in the same position in each photo. I was wondering if there is any software available that can align all of the images then create a time-lapse video of the transit of Io and its shadow.

Yep -

heaps....

I use either of the below depending on what i need.

google up "PIPP"
Among many other things
It can stitch together .jpgs in sequence

there is also video editor called 'Virtualdub'
which can do the same, and you can play with filters
to change colour, contrast etc.

cheers,

Hi Sharkbite,

Thanks, PIPP worked a treat. Now I just need to work on improving the photographer...
