Sad pic but not true, most stars are only a few years away (Alpha Centauri is the
closet star
to the solar system
at a distance of only 4.37 light years).

Proxima Centauri is a tiny bit closer than Alpha Centauri A or B, but no biggie

I tell kids that the 10" dobsonian is really a human cannon and I'd stuff them in there and light the fuse if they misbehave.
This is why I'm not allowed to do outreach anymore.
