Nikon D3300

Hi

Given that Nikon D3300 SLK can be currently bought for $332 on Good Guys ebay ($469.00 - 10% off ebay code - $100 Nikon cashback), what do people think about using this camera for Astrophotography?

Can the IR filter be readily removed? I could not find any tutorials for this particular model.

What about adding peltier cooling?

Thanks

If anybody else was looking into this, forget about the camera, they put the price up.
$469 to $649.

There is still more software support for Canons than Nikons in the world of astrophotography; I think an 1100D or 1200D would be a good entry level choice. They have been shown to have low noise, and many owners
have modded them.

Good call, loving mine even unmodded. I'll get to that one day.
DSS 3.3.4 seems to work better with it for stacking.
