Hoping it clears...

Set up 2 hours ago, and went back inside to look after our kids (wife is at work till 9pm). Did my iterative polar alignment routine, turned on the dew heaters, GOTO'd to Antares (good place holder) and went inside.

Just went out 5 minutes ago now Miss 8 months is in bed asleep. Visual back still in place (I align visually, then switch to CCD later), so I look through - Antares still dead centre of the EP - and the guiding is not even connected yet (not even the laptop). Says something about Vixen mount precision, Skywatcher's Synscan GOTO kit precision and something about my iterative polar alignment too (got it sub minute again, into the seconds). I love this stuff - man I missed it for the last 5 months!!!

And now, high level ice clouds.

I shall leave it set up and check after 22:10, which is when the neighbour's security light automatically goes off

Well the moon doesn't set until near 1am, and I am waiting as well. I will hold off setting up till midnight as I have been battling clouds all winter and had to take it all down too many times. Then I have the luxury of being able to be out there after 1am as I am retired, but the dog doesn't like it.

I am imaging H-a tonight, so the Moon is not a BIG problem.

Cloud seems to be thinning off a bit.

It must have cleared up later on in the night. I'm just going through my automation logs and had a quick squiz at one or two subs when I got out of bed this morning.

I, too, did hydrogen alpha until the Moon set. Then, an hour on the Helix Nebula and then off to NGC 253 for colour data.

It cleared around 2am. I thought about it -all was still setup - but thought the better of it.
