Hi Peter, I don't do any active noise control; I just use the in camera
high ISO and long exposure noise reduction features. No separate darks,
flats, biases, etc:

Jeez I like that a lot, Ray, well done. Probably an obvious question, but which of your 'scopes was this taken with?

Thanks elfinke, the 8" Newt which I use for about 95% of my imaging.
12 x 15 secs @ ISO 6400
I have added a further crop

Nice reds and blues.
A bit OT but how is the observatory coming along?

Wow, that's spectacular then! Thanks. Those HEQ5's are obviously mean bits of gear in the right hands...

Hi Kevin, You're quite right about the OT,[assuming it means over the top]. Unfortunately, things have conspired to force the observatory
onto the back burner. Oh well, I'll just keep hoping. To add to my
misery, it was 10 weeks yesterday since the weather allowed me to capture any subs.
Elfinke, The HEQ5 is a good mount, but any motorised mount would
allow the 15 sec exposures that comprise this image.

Thanks Rex, but I'm getting really tired of trying to dredge up old stuff to
play around with.

OT = Off Topic.
Sorry to hear of the observatory. That would make setup sooo much easier.

Thanks Simon.
Kevin. I dream of putting it into park at the end of a session, and just switching on and off we go for the next session.
