Hi: I'm getting an ioptron ieq45 pro eq mount

Hi: everyone; I just thought I'd let people here know

I'm going to receive a cgem mount, an ieq45 pro

for my birthday this year. And so my astrophotography should

be coming up.

It will go in the observatory

Any comments, suggestions? What should I do first with it?

Anything else I should buy for it?

Thanks

ieq45 pro

Hi: my intention is deep-sky astrophotography. And got a 10'X10' obs

and concrete pier and a couple dslr's and a CCD camera (ST-2000XCM)

and was wondering what to do... any suggestions, comments?

because I've heard that the hinges on the mount can be loose at first

and need tightening.

is that inherint to all these mounts (and brand new)... Mine's the pro edition.

I hope this helps. please help me

thanks.

Hi:

I've heard that the ieq45 can use an ST-4 CCD to guide, but can it use

a 2000 that uses USB?

ps: thanks

and can the Sky X be used with this too?

what about PemPRO? I've heard it can through an ASCOM setting?

is that true. thanks

Congratulations! One of the first things to get for it would be a telescope. What's it's load carrying capacity?

Hi David,

I recall your earlier post in which you mentioned having flexture problems on your previous mount. How did you arrive at that conclusion? Regardless, this mount is an improvement on your last one. Do you still have a 10" SCT? If the optics in that tube are sound, you should be able to get fine results with it using this IOptron.

I can't comment on Star2000 compatibility, but if IOptron supply an ASCOM driver then you should be able to use it with most applications. It's probably a good idea to check these things before deciding on a mount.
