First Light

Hi All

After a few months away due to work/being made redundant/having to move i have finally got round to giving my RC8 and Atik 314l+ camera a run. After a few hours of trouble shooting i finally managed to image something (m83). So the results are below. Both are 23x 4min. exposures taken with a full moon in the sky. Normally i use DSS for the stacking but this time i used PIX for everything.

The first looks over stretched and bit and the second looks a bit under but i can't seem to find the right combination

Cheers
Paul

That's a very nice looking image of what is far from an easy object.

As far as stretching goes I don't have enough experience to suggest what to do. Are they completely different images or the same one with different processing?

Well you've got some good data there. I prefer the second one on the whole so maybe use those settings as a starting point?
