Stardreams

A wonderful night at my dark site last night. Totally clear, cool, wind dropped to nothing and no moon. Wow.

Here is a single image trying to capture some of that serenity.

Fuji XE1, 14mm F2.8 Polarie 1 x 4mins

Yes it is. I also imaged the Nova directly using the TEC180 last night. Not sure how it will turn out. I'll post it once processed.
That was less serene and more tired!
I know you had a stinking hot day in Brisbane last night but I actually had the heater on in my observatory last night - amazing eh?

Another lovely one, Greg. I really like the dreamy landscape in this one too.

I quite like that effect as well.

I was doing another nightscape last night this time right over in the back paddock of my property where I haven't imaged before. I heard somethign rustling in the wind. I checked and couldn't see anything. I heard it again and looked a bit harder and it was a large brown snake shed skin!

I decided to go back to where I normally image as he may've been around somewhere. I was on a rocky patch.

Very nice, I like the softness of the image and the colours are great. And having Nova Cen 2013 in the frame is the icing on the cake, great work.

Thanks Rolf. I notice Photography in general these days is a bit obssessed with sharpness. Camera lenses are rated almost solely on how sharp they are. Sometimes not so sharp can create a pleasant effect. Now back to sharp images !!

A very nice photo Greg.

I like the soft effect. It works very well for the stars.

Thanks Ross. I intended it mainly for the stars and did not anticipate as much of an effect on the landscape. I'll be doing something like this again but with a different landscape. I think I'll shoot the landscape separately as 4 minutes on the Polarie does soften the landscape a lot.
