Night scape catch up

Hi all,

Photos from me have been few and far between lately. Have only had one totally clear night over the last month and a half or so. Thought I would share three images from that one night.

Same location and settings as the first but this is a single 30 second image

Six image vertical panorama in a pine plantation in the foothills of the snowy mountains. Bottom frame focus stacked to get the tree stump in focus. Taken towards the end of astro twilight with a crescent moon behind me lighting up the foreground. Canon 5D MkII, 14mm, F/2.8, ISO 3200

Cheers

Greg

Beautiful as always Greg. I like the lower arch of the Milky Way there. Sometimes the sharp arches are too hard in many mosaics (mine included). I think the lower arch is more aesthetic but the aspect ratio of the overall image tends to suffer a tad. So there must be a balance there somewhere. A nice arch like that but more sky and foreground to retain a nice overall aspect ratio.

Greg.
