Star Trails - Lens Fog

Hi there! Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice... Last night I attempted my first star trail and it all would have went extremely well - besides the fact that because it was so cold, my lens decided to fog up, a lot. And in turn, I slightly moved the positioning every so often because I was quickly rubbing over the lens. Any tips?

fire up a hair dryer, if you are near a power source.

a hair dryer might help, as might a heat pack placed on top of the lens

If your clever with a bit of electronics, you can try an heater strap (made with nichrome wire) and an ebay item http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/12-24V-8A...9d0b5dd&_uhb=1

There are a few people on here using them... if you have a 12volt Sealed lead acid battery it will last you ages and give off enough heat to the lens to keep the dew off...
