After stumbling on Mike's (Iceman) amazing guides I was inspired. So I planned to devote some of my amazing weekend away without the wife or kids to attempting my first panoramic.
I used my trusty Canon 650D with the kit 18-55 IS lens @ 30s f/3.5 3200ISO (was probably too much). Total images taken and stitched was 40 with the final file size coming in at a whopping 3.4Gb and 152 Megapixels (no warning there Mike! Thanks for that!). Photoshop flat out refused to look at the combine ICE did so I went to Autopano Giga. That sorted it.
I've overshot the mark on the ISO and it could have done with a few seconds less exposure time to eliminate some field rotation but overall I'm pleased enough. I wish I had some more interesting foreground (thus the under-processing there) but my object for the weekend was a high, flat and dark site. I found it at an old ghost town called Callion in WA.
Enough rambling here's my meager offerings
