Roundtable Platforms

i recieved my 23" platform yesterday and last night i checked it out by doing a short cycle to see if all the electrics worked-spot on,i also did a full cycle on the middle setting ,50 minutes is the tracking time i got until another reset. Its a shame i did all this testing in the lounge room cause look at the bloody weather now-dammit,anyways it cant last and i cant wait.

You mean www.roundtableplatforms.com ?

That's where I got mine from, too. I've had it for about a year now, and love it.

Brian is extremely friendly and very easy to deal with. My hand controller arrived in the mail today!

No more bending over to adjust the speed!

gel, did you get it for your 8" dob? Do You plan to do imaging, or did you want tracking for visual observing?

Costs getting close to $1000AU - how does this unit compare to the one offered by Bintel at around $1150 + hand controller?

The johnsonian's offered at Bintel weren't available when I got my roundtableplatform, so it wasn't in the equation at that time.

My platform cost more like AU$750 to get here - I think the prices have gone up in the last year, he's also made some design modifications to the new platforms which make it even better.

I haven't looked at the Johnsonians at Bintel, so I can't comment on them but from the pictures, they look great.

Mike, I see you're their star attraction on the astrophotography page! Maybe they should update those Jupiters. You have some much better ones. And you should ask for a commission, because the Jupiters you are pulling now would help sell a lot of these platforms I reckon.
