Bay Of Fires

Hi all,

This is how I spent my first night on my recent trip to Tasmania. Relaxing under the stars in the Bay Of Fires.

I really wanted to capture a literal Bay Of Fires image when I spent three nights in this part of Tasmania. So I scouted around for a nice coastal inlet with a good chance of giving me some nice reflections of the stars. The water wasn't quite as still as I had hoped leading to not many stars reflected, but I am still pretty happy with the result. The lighting of the opposite shoreline came courtesy of a car traveling along the road. Two image composite. One for the aforementioned lighting and one for everything else.

Nicely done Greg, I'm wondering exactly where, I know the area well but can't quite place the exact spot.

Gorgeous. Fabulous and interesting composition which is your hallmark.
Love the subtle air glow colours and the Milky Way colours. Another winner.

Greg.

Great work Greg, love the balance between the sky and the foreground.

Normally I curse passing cars and their lights but it sure helped here.
