Volcano pics from ISS

Some pretty cool pics. You can even see the curved trail of smoke wrapping around the earth.

Gee!!
It makes you think about how much stuff is being put into the atmosphere
from natural causes compared to our human levels of pollution?

Check this site for recent estimates. http://volcanoes.usgs.gov/hazards/gas/climate.php

Our emissions dwarf volcanoes.

What amazes me in those ISS pics is that you can actually see the distortion in the clouds layer due to the atmosphere refraction. It's like looking in a bath tub. It flattens everything. The top of the plume above the volcano shows as it almost going in space and you can see details but underneath it looks flat.

What amazing images. Wouldn't it be awesome to be on-board the ISS and be able to see these things in person.
