Pilbara Aquarids

Hi guys,

I got this little trio of Eta Aquarid fireballs Monday morning in the Pilbara. I'm up here scouting annular eclipse locales.

Shot settings: iso 8000, f/2.8, 16mm, 20 seconds.

The persistent trains lasted more than an hour and were still visible at start of astro twilight.

Colin

Sensational as always. I have only ever caught one persistent meteor train. It drifts down from the top of frame in one of my timelapse sequences for 2 to 3 seconds (at 24 fps). Sadly the meteor that caused it was just out of frame.

Thanks guys. Been a tad busy with the eclipse, so have only now hopped back on the forum.

I think I used up all my luck with this shot. After months of planning, preparation and more planning, on eclipse day a few things went wrong - some in my control, some not. I bit off more than I could chew and made the mistake of trying to run too many cameras on an event I'd never photographed before.
