Does Mount Hub Pro break PHD?

My astro laptop runs Windows XP SP3.

I have never had a problem with PHD before. After I installed the software for my Mount Hub Pro (version 1.52) PHD can not start its server to communicate with Nebulosity if MHP is running.

The error message in the PHD log is "port in use". I did start PHD first and then MHP. After a while PHD crashed and I had to reboot to get it to work again.

Neither program tells me what ports they use or how to alter them.

I will ask the same question of Hitecastro and Stark Labs to see if they know what's going on.

I can run both together without issue, so it will most likely be a conflict within your system.

Normally you can go to your device manager and uninstall items by right clicking, and then plug them in again to try and reinstall. The MHP has two main entries, I think both are under the human interface section.

Hope it works out, as all these issues are really annoying.

Google and download tcpview. When I run it here and start the phd server it shows port 4300 is taken by phd server. Try that then use it to see if mount hub is taking a port.

Robin, I've got a complete SysInternals kit. That's the first thing that goes on a Windoze box. MHP doesn't seem to open any TCP/UDP ports so it might be a virtual com/lpt port.

Just to add to the confusion, I've got the laptop, MHP and SSAG (I was using my Atik 16ic yesterday) on my desk and it all seems to be coexisting happily.

If it decides to muck up again I guess I'll throw Procmon at it.
