Old Shed in the Adelaide Hills - part 2

Here's 2 more photos from the Adelaide Hills when I was there with IIS member Rally.

The previous photo was of the front of the shed, here's the back side of it and also the verandah

They're both a single 30s exposure with a Canon 5D Mk2 and Samyang 14mm lens @ 14mm f/2.8, ISO3200. The skies were nice and dark in this valley where the lights from Adelaide couldn't reach us, but still lit up the bottom of the clouds on the right of the chimney image.

The chimney and verandah were lit by my headlamp for only a second or two, but at ISO3200 even that was long enough to illuminate the whole shed.

Great colours in the skies and exposure of the shed, but I'm not convinced about the leaning shed and powerpole due to the 14mm lens.

I face these conundrums with my 14mm lens and I'm hesitant to tilt is up or down for that reason. Might just be me, stuck in my geometrically ordered world...

David, Samyang are supposed to be releasing a 24mm f3.8 tilt-shift in March. I can't find a price yet. Sony, Canon and Nikon are supported so that should keep most IISers happy.

Or you can straighten in your favourite post-process app.

That sounds interesting - hopefully at a better price than the Nikon tilt-shift lens!

I haven't had great success with straightening in PS - unfortunately the distortion can be pretty extreme at 14mm.

If you have a couple of frames (or maybe it will work with one frame duplicated) Autopano has some pretty sophisticated straightening algorithms. (You can't get AutoPano to consider one image to be a pano so you can adjust it.)

The power lines were a bit annoying, but I decided not to clone them out. In silhouette they weren't too bad.
