Logitech overloaded with light

My homemade Logitech-extracted CCD has such gamma/gain that Jupiter is a big white disc. Can anything be done to fix this or am I best off buying a $159 Orion starshoot IV for the time being, just for Jupiter and Saturn. until I can afford a pro CCD for deep sky imaging? PS I took the below image of Orion nebula with my DSLR last night, am pretty proud of my first deep space image! I cleaned it up on Lightroom but am having some tech problems...

Well done Marcus, getting some nice colours there too! Not sure about home made cameras, I'm guessing you've tried reducing the gain or ISO (is that an option?), I use a canon 60d for my deep space. Still on the learning curve myself.

Are you using video mode for Jupiter?

Video mode didnt help; no Iso control on the narive software...maybe some other software that would recognise the camera? Otherwise will buy an Orion woth or wothout autoguider tomorrow.

Finally aligned my HEq5 last night, amazing when that works, took some beautiful images although Sculptor galaxy was too faint due to LP. Will stack with photoshop tonight
