Totality from Mareeba, Queensland

Last minute decision, we swerved away from the heavy traffic heading up north and headed to Kerribee Park, Mareeba.

I was very happy the decision came away with fruitful results. The sky was clear. The 50+ onlookers were simply awestruck the moment when the dark silhouette of the Moon 'mysteriously' appear in the sky!

Very nice! We nearly opted for Mareeba as well, and with 15 minutes to go I thought we had made a bad mistake staying on the coast. But we got lucky and the clouds cleared in time.
