Dispite the light pollution...

I still haven't had a chance to try imaging with my new scope under dark skies!!
Anyway I went out to my favorite light-polluted spot near Dover Heights in Sydney last night to scratch the itch a little.
Here are my efforts on M42 and NGC2070. Unfortunately I had to work today so I had to pack up around 1am so M42 was still low and I didn't have time to do very many darks. Plus the LMC is in an area with some pretty nasty glow.
Onwards and upwards!

Try a CLS filter in LP areas. I have just been pleasantly surprised at the difference it made.

i think once you get this LP tamed, and include darks like you said you will have a really good image. I like the stars, the dark detailed lanes below the core and the sharp dust lines surrounding the core.
