I have been out and about in bush locations setting trail cameras to observe night wildlife,at this location a very large old Blue Gum had a crooked limb sticking skyward, when I visited last night,I made sure to take DSLR and tripod as I thought an interesting photo could be had.
Thanks for the feed back!!,I meant to ask viewers for thoughts and which version is liked more,I ended up taking quite a few images, and lots to sort and PP.But this one might worth working on.
Nice work Chris! I prefer the crop as well. My only suggestion would be that you bring the exposure up when processing it. The twilight colour and Earthshine both look like they could benefit from a bit of brightening.
I've done a quick re work, and followed your good suggestion,it was rather smoky here, and not a great evening with all the smoke smell, but was nice to see thin moon, your shot looks good, how far out of Brisbane did you go?
I've just done a quick further crop of tree/moon.Not sure if this works.
I like the most recent square one best, very nice. I understand the "out on a limb" but overall I would find it s more relaxing and pleasing photo if the moon was separated from the tree.

That's much better Chris! Like Roger I prefer the square one rather then the latest crop.
My image was from Warrill View, just off the Cunningham Highway. About 50 minutes drive from my place.
