DSS problem

hello members
not having much luck with a couple of my questions so far
anyway does anyone know why suddenly my DSS program has started to tell me that only 1 out of (x) images will be stacked!
honestly if it is not one thing it is another!
thanks in advance
pat

Drop the threshold to 2% - you'll get a lot more stars.

Does it to me too - odd really. Also, reset the stacking pattern to either a mosaic or total map. And make sure you check the parameters (greenvs blue options)

Good luck! Drives me nuts sometimes, especially when I get a 100% white output image... fixable with levels etc in the program, if only JUST.

I tried stacking in MaxIM DL... what a nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Horrendous results, and such a poor user interface. Not having any luck with Registax either... works, but crashes on me so often in Windows 7, and is not as intuitive as DSS.

I've also had similar problems, usually whenever I try to stack a cluster (so far Omega Cent, Tuc47 and especially problematic The Jewel Box) I need to drop the threshold right down as Lewis suggested. At which point some of the other settings I usually select change eg "Use median combination method" to something else that I cannot recall right now and takes three times as long to process.

Still learning and bumbling through it all...

Having said that what a great feeling when you see that image peel back and you know you've got a winner!
