More Sun - proms and disc - 2 September 2012

Hi all

Had a brief session starting at around 9am before the festivities of the day began!
Proms shot with LS60 Ha, 2.5 Powermate and DMK31. The disc action was with the same scope but DMK51.
I had the 80 out with good intentions but did not get around to it - discs first for me!

Great shots Matt. I don't mind monochrome Ha (the detail shows up great), but the orange colour of the full disc really adds the "swirling ball of gas" look.

Thanks Laurie and Ivan - I was pretty happy with the fuzzy edge on the first prom shot.

Great disc image Matt. The DMK51 looks to be the perfect camera for full disc images.
Would like to see it behind the 80mm.

Thanks all - Gary, I will get the 51 behind the 80 soon. I start with the 60 to get disc shots (still new) - it allows me to judge the conditions, then the 2.5 Powermate and 31 and I have not yet had the time to get the 80 in the mount - it did get out of the cupboard for this session though!
