Grus Quartet

Was looking for my first object to image with the new CCD and decided to try the ED127 at f/7.5
The Grus quartet seemed to fit the bill. Bit poorly framed, poor NGC7552 almost got cut off. There was more data around it but had to crop it out.

Turned out OK for someone who didn't know what they were doing.
Might come back to these fella's at a later date.
No darks, bias or flats (as you can tell by the dust). I stuffed up the flats (again).

Grus Quartet: NGC7552, NGC7582, NGC7590, NGC7599

RGB: 300x4
L: 480x4
Star color's poor, yet again. Must be something i am doing or not doing in PI.
Would have liked to have gotten more but clouds prevented that.

Very Nice Nathan!

Quite good detail there (behind all the dust bunnies )

You mentioned the new CCD, but didnt say what it was?

I'm encouraged to get back out there an try my hand at some galaxies now.

Cheers

Chris

Nice shot, Nathan. The star colours look good to me and shows nice variety. Could definitely do with flat calibration though. Quite a bit of dust in there.
