Jupiter this morning

Seeing got to 7/10 in Melbourne after midnight which is excellent for here!

2 images attached taken with 12.5" f/5 and NextImage, 300 frames, 10 FPS, 1/20 exp., processed in Registax, and then also processed in AstraImage.

For Registax the setting used were:

WAVELETS SLIDERS
1: 1
2: 3.8
3: 10.5
4: 18.6
5: 36.7
6: 77.8

Gamma: 0.7; Contrast 163, Brightness 2; Some Histo Stretch

Then for the second image the standard set up in Astra Image ME Deco (7 iterations at 1.7), Alpha Trimmed Mean (3x3) and some unsharp masking.

Unfortunetaly the seeing did not last, by the time I woke up again at 4.00am for the joint HST/Amateur project, the high cloud had moved in and I could hardly even make out the shape of the GRS with seeing down to 1-2/10!!

Hope everyone has had a huge night! Comments welcome!

John.

Great shots John, I was up at Mt Martha last night with the NACAA crowd & it was a real treat to get clear skies on the last night of official proceedings of the conference.

I like it John! There's some good promise there! I'd like to have a go at processing the best avi, if you don't mind? I think there's some extra detail and smoothness I might be able to extract!

Another great result, well done.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Mike expect a DVD in the mail late this week!

Lester, good luck with the NextImage settings, hope they work. Normally the seeing does not allow me to move more than about half of the slider settings for 6,5,& 4, so would be interested in your results and have never been able to get better results at 5fps or 15 fps, generally 10 fps seems best for me and my site.
