Hi
the evening started out well, with a steady sea breeze smoothing out the local turbulence. Got a few images of Mars under fairly good conditions. Yippee - Saturn should be good later on - but then the wind stopped, the standard cold air turbulence started up and Mars turned back into the normal fuzzy ball. Really pleased I was imaging earlier. thanks for looking. Regards ray
thanks Ivan - yes, really like your Saturn.
Starting to get a handle on seeing here and, apart from the jetstream, local seeing is generally poor unless there is a wind off the sea to clear away the thermals over the town. Worst possible seems to be a still night with rapidly dropping temperatures, following a sunny day. Seeing is a fascinating topic in its own right.
