Movin' North, up the Hume

Well, interesting news. I'll be moving closer to the Sun in early July. I will be relocating to the northern beaches area of Sydney for at least a year.

Hope I can become a regular at the Pony Club? It seems to be just an hour's drive from where I will be living.

But the calendar will have two permanent entries for the Snake Valley camps in March and November. Hmmm..... Sydney to Snake Valley in a day pulling a loaded trailer? Not sure!

Now all the arrangements that need to be made............

Hi Eric,

Looking forward to seeing you up here in Sydney.

After driving around Melbourne a few weeks back, it was a reminder that Sydney,
by comparison, is winning hands down for the dubious title of most traffic
congested city in the country. However, rest assured that the run from the
Northern Beaches, via St Ives and then Wahroonga, up the F3 and onto the Pony Club
will be a comparatively easy and pleasant trip on a Saturday evening.

Be sure to add Lostock to the calendar.

You also have the amenity of the ASNSW dark sky site at Ilford 4 hours to the west.
The Society owns the property, it has amenities such as hot showers and the skies are excellent.

Hey Eric,

The beaches around here are very nice and the skies a little more forgiving than the city.

Have a safe move.

Never fear, David, we still have our block at Gerringong. I just keep paying the mortgage , paying the rates and having the grass cut. We'll build our retirement home there......................one day

On my last long stay in Sydney (1973-1981), I used to hit the Eastern Suburbs beaches (variously Bondi, Tamarama, Bronte, Coogee) for early morning and late afternoon swims. Now I have a shortie wetsuit, I'll tackle early morning winter swims somewhere around Mona Vale

Good luck for an adventurous future.

It will be good to have one or two more great Astro nights here before you go.

Eric, that close to Qld, you'll have to make it to Astrofest. If you're worried about traveling just join the h0ugh convoy, the ensuing vortex will drag you all the way to duckadang in record time.

Eric,

Good luck with the move!!! A snake valley camp without you just wouldn't be the same so make sure you lock those dates in.

Be careful of that salt air!!

all the best,

niko
