Would be interested in knowing myself, I was a junior member of ASNSW and can remember Mr Lumley taking us all under his wing, geez, that was some 40+ years ago now.........

Can still remember how you had to be properly dressed to attend .

Cheers

Thanks for that, I was a Junior Member in the early to mid 60's, was around 14 or so then, I had actually forgotten the location of the old site. I also remember another old observatory over in the Bexley area, it, from memory had an old Cooke mounting and a 6" Cooke refractor, don't know what happened to that, I think the person's name was Mashman.

Cheers

The Belfield observatory has had a numerous mentions and articles in the ASNSW pulication Universe. There have been many pictures of the location, map then and now, and equipment in these articles.

If you are a member of the ASNSW the back issues of Universe are avilable on line.
