Rho Ophiuchi Cloud Complex & Friends LRGB

Well its been an awesome week for imaging, no moon, clear skies and awesome seeing!

I finally got around to imaging something I wanted to image for a very long time. I have always enjoyed looking at other peoples renditions of this object and I absolutely love the vast number of colours it has to offer.
I hope I have done it justice.

This image is comprised of (3:1.5:1.5:1.5) LRGB (5 minute subs)

Rho Ophiuchi Cloud Complex - Large

Thanks for Looking!

Thanks, yes the tilt is there unfortunately. The culprit is the Takahashi CAA. I have tried to tighten the CAA screws but to no avail, still there is slop.
The CAA unfortunately cannot handle the weight of the STL+8CFW+Clement Focuser no matter how much you tighten those screws.
I use the TAKometer with the CAA for rotation and I have finally decided to remove the CAA completely and replace it with a Pyxis 3" rotator.
That will have to wait for the next maintenance trip to Arkaroola
Until then, tilt it is

Cheers
Mark

Lovely looking image Mark. Great colours and nice fine detail showing through. Perhaps as a suggestion reduce the image to around 1800 pixels wide. That gives a really nice scale and overall perception of the view.

Beautiful image Mark, really nice.

Agree with Paul, I'd like to see a version between the small (large) and original. Something I can fill the screen with without having to scroll around.

I usually just load the largest image that is available and right click on it and click "view image", that way I can see all of it and if there is any region of interest I can zoom in on it. Alternatively holding control down while scrolling will adjust the web browsers zoom.

Yeh this is a top shot Mark nice and sharp and multiple globs too, bonus.

You could experiment with colours a tad more maybe ... but it's still great

Thanks Mike!
I have really enjoyed processing this object as it offers so many possibilities.
To improve it i am going to add some star colours by taking some shorter subs.
