[SOLD] Modified Canon 400D

I have for sale a modified(by Eric in the forum) Canon 400D for nebula photography. Day time photography is still possible by some calibration.Black about 4 years old includes body, 3batteries(1 is original), charger and AC adapter kit.
Asking for $420 including postage for Australia. However I prefer pick up in Sydney and will give it priority.It hasn't been used for 2 years due to my poor health.

Hi Vincent,

This is top of mind for me- as I currently have a 400D (not modified) as my main imaging camera and I was thinking of getting a new camera - but one that Eric has modified might be a much better purchase for me short term!

Two simple questions


1. Did Eric take the IR lens right out and replace it with a different IR filter (e.g. Baader or Astronmics) that allows Hydrogen Alpha through or leave it with no filter whatsoever?


2. Do you have any before / after shots of objects that are strong in Ha - showing what you were able to achieve once Eric had done his magic - The Tarantula would be a classic example - its always white / blue / slight green on my unmodifed camera. What its look like on yours - more reddish?

(Just browsed thru your flickr links - looks good), but still like to see a target that is bright in the Ha and needs a modified camera to see the benefits!


So mark me down as very interested and happy to meet your price if the Ha performance is good. Please post said pic and happy to transact this week (am off work today - but training tonight - or could make it tomorrow night if that suits).
