Eta and NGC 2032 - GSO RC8

Hi all,
Couple more from last night.

Had to have a go at Eta with the new RC8 - it's the law!

Think I've sorted out the tilt issue which has been evident in previous images - just re-sat the focuser in its adapter and applied equal pressure on the 3 attachment screws...simple!

Quite happy with this image - I think it shows the potential of the RC8.

Next up is a different story!!
NGC 2032, 2035, 2040 and 2020 in the same field.

My bad luck imaging the LMC continues!
The scope weight v's mount capability is very evident in this image - tracking issues abound! Probably shouldn't have bothered posting other than for morbid interest!!
Really only had 2-3 decent subs with round stars to the edge
Sorry!

Hi Doug,

Like the original - more red. Nice translucent feel to the neb.

Is it worth trying ISO 800 to see if you get more detail and SN - just a thought.

Thanks Marc and Craig - there'll be no pissing around with 800 Craig!! LOL
1600 is THE sweet spot for the 40D - as close to an OSC CCD as us DSLRers are likely to get!

Hi Doug,

Your Eta C photo looks great. Sharp and great colours.

I know your problem. I have a Vixen R200ss 8inch Newtonian on a HEQ5Pro mount that I have been trying to get consistent round stars for 2 years. It is sitting in the garage until I can get a bigger mount.

Ross.
