Stellarium Time reference???

I am using Stellarium 0.10.6.1 in Win7. I love it but it seems to be about three hours slow compared to my computer's clock (daylight saving time).

Stellarium will show the moon is still up when in real life it has well and truly set. In other words, when I come in from looking at an object in the sky and check on Stellarium, the position is very different.

I thought it would work out the time from my longitude regardless of human type clocks. Even clicking on Sydney in the places menue does not improve it.

Hi Mike
Sounds like something in the config.ini is wrong and not being up dated
Delete the config.ini and let then program generate a new one from the default.

I am in the same time zone and time as you and have no problems even if I am using 0.11.1-RC2 Use Richmond NSW as your location.

Have a look at the timezone plug in. There might be an erroneous entry there that is upsetting the default.

The problem was as you suggested. The "Time Zone Plugin" was defaulting to a wacky UTC offset instead of my "System Settings".
It is now starting up using my "system settings" as default and the Sun and moon are where they should be, both inside and outside my home.

I think you probably got 0 10.6.1 which was an emergency release and the person who compiled it probably compiled the time zone plug in with his own settings instead of computer date time as the default.

The correct default should be computer date time.

Hi Barry, yes 0.10.6.1 is the version I have. Is there a latter version I could/should download?
