Live Video Astronomy of ISS/Shuttle

I know I like to brag about the fantastic results available with 'Live' video astronomy but even this one amazed me!

This video was taken using a Samsung SDC-435 (model below mine).
It is a simple $195 Security Video Camera in an 8" LX200 SCT.

Absolutely Amazing video of Atlantis docked with ISS in broad daylight!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgoVGWazev8

FANTASTIC!!!!

It is also an Historic video as the opportunity of capturing a Shuttle at the ISS will never happen again.

That's pretty cool with an SCT. He's obviously got all aspects of tracking nailed to a T. Impressive.

Yes Marc, he used Brent Boshart's Satellite Tracker software (no longer available)

Thanks for the link.
That Optical tracker looks great!
Pity that one only works with one Meade mount and a few Celestron Mounts.
And it costs to use.

Brent Boshart's Satellite Tracker software is Free and as far as I know works with any GoTo mount. But unfortunately it is hard to find and Brent has stopped updating and maintaining it.
I'll see if I can find it.

4 versions...
  1. Free
  2. Basic (U$29.99)
  3. Enthusiastic (U$59.99)
  4. Professional (U$99.99)

So if you only need to control one video source and telescope, free will work. The other versions support up to three video sources (if you shoot multiple cameras through multiple scopes on the same mount).

OIC!

Thanks, that's good

Still no good to me though as I have an EQ6 mount
but good for some Meade and Celestron mounts.

Awesome.

If anyone has the Brent Boshart software I'd love a copy.

I know I can download it from Yahoo groups, but as usual, I'm having no luck getting in to my Yahoo account, even though I subscribe to another group. It will not send me any ID's or passwords through the help system either. Yahoo has been impossible to use since I first went there in about 1995.

Cheers,
Jason.

Jason, everyones Yahoo accounts have been linked to Google accounts, so you might have to log in using a Google username and password. Thats what happened to me, and millions of other people.

Thanks Ken.

I've actually already tried that, but same story. Even though it told me it had linked my google account to my yahoo account, yahoo tells me the google account doesn't exist (which it does, I use it all the time).

So, Yahoo still sucks fetid donkeys gizzards.

Cheers,
Jason.
