Western Sydney

Hey, quick question

Like the title suggests, I'm a newbie trying to find an astronomy club or some interested people around Richmond.

I'm guessing this is the right board to look on, Thanks

Hey Smiga,

Have a look at a few posts previous to yours and go to the one that mentions Katoomba Airfield.

Hello Smigatron,

The Western Sydney Amateur Astronomy Group meets next Wednesday night at the University of Western Sydney's Nepean Observatory, at 7:30pm. This is at the Werrington campus, off the Gt Western Hwy and 2km east of the Northern Rd.

All welcome.

You can get a map of how to get there from

or the direct link to the image:-

Mark, I saw the post earlier, but I am a complete noob so I would like to get comfortable with the basics before I head out that way. Thanks for pointing it out though.

And thanks Tony, that's exactly what I am looking for. I'll see you there.

yep, Katoomba Airfield or some of the members of n.s.w astronomy club meet at Crago observatory from time to time. The observatory has a 16” ƒ/7 Dob . The Observatory is located on Bowen Mountain, in the Blue Mountains National Park, near North Richmond. must contact someone from the club first. In my opinion the best spot in Sydney.
