I bought this scanner a couple of years ago to digitise all my home paperwork. I have a similar one at work (Fi-5120c), and it has performed flawlessly for 6 years so far - hasn't missed a beat. I am not using the one at home any longer, as I tend to just file the paper now...
This is a current model scanner, that
retails for $900-$1000
This high quality business-grade scanner is a big step up from your basic sheet-fed scanner
- it scans both sides of the paper in one pass with its dual CCDs, in either colour, monochrome or grayscale (30ppm single side, 15ppm double side)
- it can detect double feeds
- up to 600dpi
see
here for full details, pictures etc.
Current TWAIN and ISIS drivers can be downloaded from
here. I still have the disc with a full copy of Adobe Acrobat 7.0, which is included.
For full featured scanning software, I highly recommend
QuickScan Pro. It quite simply can do anything you might require with scanned documents.
- Supports batch scanning and indexing
- can read barcodes
- can automatically name documents based on information OCR'd from the document
- can automatically remove blank pages
- Can save multiple scanning parameters/templates for different jobs
- Can connect with SharePoint
- can digitally stamp scanned documents with whatever info you require+
- etc etc
Was selling for $500 plus postage, then $450 including postage
NOW - $390 including postage
Please give this unwanted piece of kit a home
Cheers
