Mounting Astronomik CLS-CCD Clip in Filter

I recently purchased the Astronomik CLS-CCD filter for my Canon EOS 550D DSLR. This is the first time that I have tried to install one of the clip in filters from Astronomik so it may be a first time user issue but to me the filter is not clipping properly in to place as I would expect it to do.

When inserting the filter as per the instructions on the Astronomik web site (does not look that complicated) I find that there is no positive feedback when pushing the filter in place to indicate that it has clipped into place. It just sits there in the camera body in front of the mirror enclosure and moves around when I move the camera. I would expect that it should be a snug fit and would not move about then the camera moves. I tried pushing it firmly (without crushing the camera body :-)) but I cannot seem to achieve a firm fit.

I am reasonably sure that I am following the correct installation procedure as the pictures on the Astronomik web site are quite clear. Apart from the obvious which is that I am doing something wrong the only other thing I can notice is that the lug on the right hand side of the filter seems to be not quite as proud as the other one but really there is not much in it. For what it is worth I have attached three photos that I have taken of the filter.

I know that there are some other users of this filter that contribute to this forum so I was wondering if anyone could let me know if they have had a similar problem. I have sent off a note to Astronomik as well so it will be interesting to see their response.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

It will require a little extra push at the top of the filter. It should be a tight fit. I sit the bottom end in first then push the top into place.

Thanks for posting the response Rowland.

This problem has been resolved. It did turn out to be the fact that the lugs on the filter did not protrude sufficiently far enough to ensure a snug fit into the camera body. I took it back to the place of purchase and let them adjust the lug (I wasn't game enough to try it). It now fits nice and tight. This approach was also consistent with an email that I received from Astronomik following an email support enquiry that I sent to them.
