Anyone Read "Einstein's Telescope" ?

Hi All;

Just wondering whether anyone has read a book by Evalyn Gates (Univ of Chicago), called "Einstein's Telescope". Interesting read about gravitational lensing and its use in the hunt for dark matter etc. Publishing date is 2009 so it seems reasonably up to date on current theory etc.

(I wonder how much the Hubble telescope will cost, (second hand), when they've finally finished with it (chuckle, chuckle). I guess it'll end up on eBay! )

Anyway, it seems to be a pretty understandable read, without getting too much into the mathematical side of it all. Good book for those wanting to get a light infusion on the theory side of things.

Cheers

Hi Kevin;

No updates planned.

Was an excellent book, however. I have subsequently found that Evalyn Gates is no slouch in the 'lensing' arena.

I highly recommend this book.

cheers
