Open Night at Mt Canopus
Near Hobart
- The 1 meter telescope will be rigged with a video camera
- There will many telescopes to look through
- Talks by astronomers at University Tasmania
- Sales of astronomy themed posters etc
The crescent Moon, and Saturn will be highlights. But visible will be many star cluster, interstellar gas/dust clouds, double stars ...

Time: 7 - 10 pm
Cost: $2 per person or $5 per family
Location: Mt. Canopus Observatory, Canopus Hill, near Cambridge Tasmania

From Hobart take A3 toward Airport.
Take Richmond/Cambridge exit (B31)
Turn under highway and bear left toward Mt Rumney (C328)
Take first left onto Grahams Rd
Take next left onto Centauri Dr (straight ahead is a dirt road)
Take next right uphill at wide intersection along Canopus Rd
The Observatory is on right at the crest of the hill
