eta

hello everyone, this was my first go with phd guiding the neq6. i took 3*5 minute exposures 800 iso on the 5d mk 2 through ed80 with reducer/flattener, then stacked with dss and processed in photoshop.
i know my processing skills need major work- i really just did a bit of this and a bit of that till i thought it looked half decent. i would appreciate comments on how i could process better and basically get it to look how it should. thanks

Hi

There is an IIS member who had been presenting some Photoshop tutorials online off his website that might prove very useful for your purpose:
http://www.atalas.net (Look for the links around the bottom right hand corner) and here's all the links to those tutorials:

There seems to be a lot of data there. It might be better to back off on the saturation. Much of the finer detail has been obliterated as a result. Go for detail rather than colour at this stage, then work on the saturation.

The 5D MkII is a wonderful instrument for low noise - allows you to get away with ISO800 where others can't.

Little too red. As suggested, check out Atalas' tutorials - they are fundamental if you're processing in PS.

Have a look - even if you don;t have PS, it gives you a good indication on processing.

Good luck and by the way, nice post too.

Darrin...
