My experience with Telegizmos

Over the last several mths I have been dealing with Bob Pitney at Telegizmos to sort out a problem with the storm cover for my SDM 20" dob.
I am VERY impressed with the service I've received & I want to tell you all about it.

Here's the story.

When I purchased my SDM dob, it came with a Telegizmos Storm Cover. As some of you are aware, at Qld Astrofest last year I had a little water problem.
After getting home from Astrofest I contacted Telegizmos & enquired about them making a custom cover to fit my scope exactly.
At this point I was fully expecting & happy to pay for this cover as the problem was not caused by anyone's fault.

After explaining to Bob what I wanted & the reasons behind it, he said, "it's our original cover & it doesn't do what it's supposed to do so we will rectify the problem".

Bob manufactured a new cover to my specifications & shipped it to me in Brisbane from the US, all at no cost to me.

After Bob offered this I decided to buy 2 additional covers. 1 for my SCT & 1 for the 12" dob.
This was mainly to make it worth his while as he was going above & beyond to rectify my problem.

After the covers arrived, it was found that the custom cover didn't fit. Somewhere along the line one of the dimensions was incorrect.
I'm not sure how or where this has happened, but that's life. I haven't investigated, but I'm quite happy to take responsibility for the mistake. It's very possible that I gave an incorrect dimension.

I let Bob know out of courtesey, that the cover didn't fit & at the same time I was very clear with him that I was not looking at him to rectify the issue.

Bob has come back & offered for me to return the incorrect cover, he will correct it & send it back to me. Again at no cost to me.

Considering the original problem was nothing to do with Bob, other than one of his proprietry covers not fitting a custom built scope, he has offered exceptional after sales service & gone far above my expectations of a retailer.:thumb sup:

Ditto here.
Mine had a small tear caused by the re-seller packing incorrectly.
I just wanted to know if a Gore-Tex patch from an old windbreaker would work as it was on the bottom edge and not critical.
He didn't even wait for me to send him the original before another was on its way!!
