Vela SNR

Had a go at getting better colour data for the Vela SNR. I already have reasonable narrow band data.

Below are three images colour data, NB data and the combination.

Here is a large version of the combined colour and NB 16MB FoV 6.7x4.6 degrees.

Might have a go a getting a mosaic if the weather gets better.

Very nice Bert. My only comment is I feel the stars are dominating the image too much and taking attention away from the main attraction which is the nebula.

I wonder if its worth trying to pull the stars back.

Yes you are correct. It is a bit like one of Mozarts critics who said his composition had too many notes!

These nebulas are very dim and the stars shine bright at all visible wavelengths.

There is no correct answer.

Just look at the NB image. It shows the nebulae well but the stars are without character or identity.
