Tarantula Nebula

This is my first dark sky image (Wiruna).

Tarantula Nebula with 6 inch newt on eq5 and modded canon 350d. 5 minute expousres (about 85min) Calibrated.

Had all sorts of issues the first couple of nights but then managed to squeeze this out on the third night.

I like it a lot! Perhaps too red but that's a minor problem.

Cheers

Yes I think that's an improvement. It's definitely a nice image. Steve

Yeh the Sidonio is an improvement Paul...weired saying that

You might try just working on the stars to make them a little more colourfull

As Steve C says, a good image still

Thanks all for comments. Looking at it - yes still too red - so here is the last Sidonio (promise . More colourful as Mike suggested.

Err given it's a term affectionately (or otherwise) coined after yours truly

What do you think of Sidonio's Sidonio ..just in terms of colour balace and overall look and there was more in there to bring out too, it is horribly compressed....and perhaps as such was a waste of time ...if so sorry, I don't make a habit of repr..I mean, Sidonioing other peoples work...I see it done on occassions and it is usually worse

Much better! There is actually quite a lot of blue-green in the T, and this version brings it out.

Thanks Geoff I agree too that the green stands out. Mike you have shown that there is more data in there but I think the image is at it's limits in your Sid now. Possibly packing too much into every pixel etc. 6 inch reflector and 10 Meg canon and that's that - nothing more to give I'm afraid .

Apparently 6" is about average and all you need really..just how you use it is what counts
