Anyone planning on buying a new scope in the next few months put a hold on it..I was Just speaking with Lee from Andrews comms in sydney, he has got exclusive rights to the the new GSO 16" truss dobs..He has been to china and met with the big wig of Geuan sheng and he showed him the plans for the new truss dob..It will be quite transportable as the whole thing comes appart..The mirror will be 1 12th wave wich for a mass produced scope is exellent..But the best thing is the price....He will be selling them for $2400..with full exclusivity in Australia..what a bargain..16 inches for 2400 smackers..compare that to the 10" meade that has just been released...Im saving already..I feel this is a turning point in backyard astronomy in Australia..Now the average keen amatuer can afford a REAL instrument...He says around feburary march he should fully stocked...Can't wait..
