"StarTracer" app - Startrails advice sought

I had a little play with "StarTracer" with some pretty ordinary 30sec subs but was just wondering why the startrails looked so stepped? I wasn't quite sure what value to put in the "Field of View" box and wondered if getting this wrong might have caused the stepping? If so, how do I determine the Field of View value?

many thanks for your time.

cheers

Had a quick look at the software although haven't used it but look like the measurement markers label are being display and combined as well.

These may change for each Star-trail image inserted. It may be an option in the software to turn it off.

I may try and use it later.
