What an achievemnt !!!! Shame the clip didnt show more of the planatarium and less of him sorting small boxes. Has a feel good feel, thanks for the info.

Wow, that is some awesome achievement ! I wonder how many of the bits came from work though - naughty boy ! But regardless, I feel his efforts will be rewarded in time

His achievement is gonna put his town on the map.

Dunno what map but he'll get some customers soon . . . one day . . hopefully.

Pity coz he has done such a great job of it.
Strange though coz it looks like he lives out in the dark where he could show people the real sky

You want to see some backyard planetariums. www.tec.groups.yahoo.com/group/small_planetarium

There are pictures, construction details etc.

Projectors are standard TV projectors. using a sphere as a mirror and shining Stellarium onto the mirror. Stellarium has a special display mode for this.

Of course if you can afford a fisheye lens it is even better.

I was thinking of building a bordelo in the backyard but the wife complained, go figure. so I settled for a shed instead
