First light - EOS 400D modified - M16

Hey again,

With this bout of clouds lurking above us, has meant we all were unable to get out much these past couple of weeks. So, during this time, I managed to pick up a brand new 400d for next to nothing and sent it off to Peter Tan to get it modified.

After a 2 week wait. I received the camera this morning. The work carried out was top notch. No complaints here.

As the clouds started clearing up for me today, I decided to give it a first light, And my oh my, can I tell the difference...

So I set the intervelometer to run 6 min subs while I ran out and did some errands, not realizing what lies ahead..... I forgot to turn off the 'auto off' feature on the camera and only ended up with 10 mins worth of lights (4 min prelim test and my one and only 6 min sub)

Either way, end result turned out pretty good for 10 mins, and I find there is better noise control compared to my nikon d5000.

Oh well, lets hope for no clouds so I can finish my M16..

Hi Robert

A good start mate, everything looks quite sharp and there is some good detail emerging.

It definitely needs more subs though, I'll be looking forward to the finished image with a few more added.

Cheers

Great shot. It's already looking very good. You can push the data a bit harder if you want. Bit noisy but more subs will smooth all this out. Nice work.
